Parks

The Parks data layer helps you understand the current locations of parks, who has access to them, and where new parks or park upgrades might be needed.

Parks provide spaces for people to exercise, relax, and connect with nature and their neighbors. When deciding where to create or improve parks, look for locations with low park access or parks with degraded amenities. Additionally, consider locations with low income, disadvantaged community status, high heat exposure, high social sensitivity, or low tree canopy.

When you add the Parks data layer to the map, you will see the following sublayers:

Feature

The Parks sublayer displays polygons of each park in L.A. County. This data is derived from L.A. Parks and Trust for Public Land.

2. Park Walksheds

Feature

The Park Walksheds sublayer display the area surrounding each park indicating a 1/2 mile walkable distance. This shows the areas that have easy access to a park. This data is derived from Trust for Public Land.
