The Living Infrastructure Field Kit is designed to assist you in taking your project from concept to funding application. The Field Kit can be a helpful resource for your funding application by:

  • Helping you outline map-based project Sketches.
  • Supporting community engagement requirements for funding proposals.
  • Providing project details and metrics necessary for writing grant applications.
  • Estimating project benefits that will appeal to specific funding programs.
  • Estimating project construction and maintenance costs.
  • Providing information about environmental and social stressors affecting the community to justify the need for funding.

While not all projects require external funding, we designed the Field Kit's features to align with the requirements of grant applications for the listed programs:

 

Parks

Measure A: Safe, Clean Neighborhood Parks and Beaches

California Proposition 68

Projects Funded Funds projects that enhance and/or create outdoor, healthy, and sustainable learning environments that support LAUSD's curriculum. Schools that apply to the SEEDS program are eligible to receive up to a maximum of $100,000 for design, infrastructure improvements, and installation of landscaping materials for their project.

SoCal Water$mart

Projects Funded Funds cash rebates on a wide variety of water-saving technologies. The Turf Replacement program provides rebates to homeowners who remove their existing grass and replace it with organic, drought-tolerant landscaping. The Commercial Device program offers rebates on upgrades to plumbing fixtures, landscaping equipment, food equipment, HVAC equipment, and medical equipment.

 

Urban Flood Protection Grant Program (Proposition 68)

Projects Funded Funds projects that address flooding in urbanized areas and provide multiple benefits. Active Transportation Program (ATP)

Projects Funded Funds projects that increase the use of active modes of transportation, such as biking and walking. This includes promoting biking and walking, improving safety for non-motorized users, supporting regional efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and ensuring equitable distribution of program benefits to disadvantaged communities, among other goals.

 

Measure M

Administrator Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (L.A. Metro)

Projects Funded Funds projects that ease traffic, repair local streets and sidewalks, expand public transportation, retrofit bridges for earthquakes, and subsidize transit fares for students, seniors, and persons with disabilities.

 

Sidewalk and Transit Amenities Program

Common Grantees N/A

Projects Funded Funds transit shelters with shade, seating, and information and advertising displays. Additional amenities include hydration stations, hand sanitizing dispensers, Wi-Fi, phone charging stations, cooling devices, and scooter or bicycle docks.

Hydration Station Incentive Program

Projects Funded Funds the installation or refurbishment of publicly accessible drinking water stations on a property. To qualify, hydration stations must dispense drinking water and include a bottle-filling mechanism.

 

Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program
